Children and teen aerial classes

Our term-time aerial classes are a fun and supportive way for children and teenagers to build strength, confidence and coordination while learning exciting circus skills.

We run multiple children’s and teen aerial classes each week in term time in St Albans.

Students learn moves on aerial silks, trapeze, hoop and hammock, developing flexibility, balance and core strength along the way.

Classes are taught in small groups in a friendly, non-competitive environment where students can progress at their own pace.

Suitable for ages 8-18. Beginners welcome.

Children’s & Teens Aerial Classes - Schedule

Our children’s and teenage classes are grouped broadly by age so that students are learning alongside others at a similar stage. However, these are only guidelines rather than strict cut-offs - if your child is around a year outside the suggested age range, that is usually absolutely fine. We are always happy to advise on the most suitable class.

Current class age guides:

What happens in a class?

Each class typically includes:

• A warm-up to build strength and coordination

• Learning aerial skills on silks, trapeze, hoop or hammock

• Working individually and in small groups

• Conditioning exercises to support aerial strength

• A stretch and cool-down

In our Margaret Wix classes, students learn aerial silks and static trapeze one week, and aerial hammock and aerial hoop the next, repeating throughout the term. In our Yoga Hall classes, they learn aerial silks and static trapeze one week, and aerial silks and aerial hammock the next.

Class Sizes & Safety

We keep our class sizes small (maximum 10 students) so that everyone receives plenty of individual support.

• Two instructors present at each session

• Fully insured

• DBS-checked staff

• First aid trained

Safety and proper technique are always our priority.

Joining a Class

Many of our children’s classes run waiting lists.

When a space becomes available we normally offer a trial session (£12) first. If your child enjoys the class, they can then join the remainder of the term.

If you’d like to join the waiting list, please get in touch and let us know:

• Your child’s age

• Which class times would suit you best

Why Aerial?

Aerial is a fantastic activity for children who enjoy climbing, movement and trying something a little different.

It helps build:

• Creativity and performance skills

And most importantly - it’s great fun.
